Del Buck Having been well into Mr Abadi back in the FAX days, this album is a real treat. Strong long-form pieces that never get boring. Of course, I've mixed it into a two and a half-hour blowout (I added Trancelebration Part 1 on again at the end!) and I'm just waiting for a long drive or job to try it out. In graphic representation it is well known - the DNA double helix as the basis of all earthly life. But how does it sound if you translate its rotation into acoustic signals? More than 20 years ago, a musical answer to this question and added under the project name "Helix". On the album "Trancelebration" the bio-sounds generated at the time into a modernized context. The origins of the work go back to the spring of 1996. At that time, Dr. Atmo during a studio session happened to come from Cologne university professor Dr. Panzer. He had developed a formula with which the rotating DNA double helix can be converted into rhythms and tones. Inflamed by this, Dr. Atmo the raw material from Prof. Panzer changed the sounds and composed a sixty-minute cell nucleus journey with the title "Genetic Soul". Those who own a copy can consider themselves lucky, because the album was only released in a strictly limited number on Torsten Stenzel's label "Liquid Records".
Jump in time to spring 2020. Dr. Atmo put on his long-forgotten “Genetic Soul” again as part of one of his legendary chill-out gigs, mixed in two voice pieces and garnished the collage with a fresh beat. A remix result that should take the visitors on a musical DNA trip and at the end extend over a full three hours.
The album "Trancelebration" is now the one hour essence from this live marathon. A deeply relaxed journey to the source of biochemical being, which, thanks to its loop characteristics, actually appears to be an aural reflection of the rotating double helix. Knowing how the project came about, you even get the impression that you are constantly witnessing DNA duplication with subsequent cell division. Because Dr. Atmo in its original way of condensing the pulsating sounds and effects in long waves to the climax, in order to finally release them into freedom in a finely resolved manner. PEACE!
